The area around the monastery ruins is one of the oldest settled areas in Boitzenburg. The former mill is now a museum; the adjacent barn has previously been used to store historical objects and equipment, and the former stable was used in the past as the “Wirtshaus zur Klostermühle” inn.
Every building has its story. We are convinced: together they have a great future.
The UMBRUCH Gruppe will now awaken this unique ensemble from its slumber. Together with the municipality, partners, and authorities, the buildings will be renovated to preserve their substance. And finally, they will be reopened as KLOSTERPARK Boitzenburg.
The new Klosterschänke will lead the way as a meeting place for all residents and visitors of Boitzenburg.
With nine guest rooms in the newly developed attic. With restaurant and café operations and a beer garden. With a large, cozy dining room and a function room for birthdays, seminars, or community meetings.
We are developing the new Klosterscheune into an event hall with a music and theater stage.
It will be Boitzenburg’s premier space for concerts, weddings, seminars, or dance evenings. Additionally, another guest room and a music production studio will be integrated into the barn, featuring professional equipment for musicians from the region.
The Klostermühle is already one of the most important witnesses to Boitzenburg’s history.
The UMBRUCH Gruppe will therefore renovate it with particular care to preserve its substance and develop it into a place of remembrance for all of Boitzenburg. Together with the renowned museum expert and curator Dr. Kurt Winkler, we will expand the technical museum’s offerings and also tell the story of Boitzenburg within the mill.
Important note: The outlined schedule is preliminary and also dependent on external factors. Dates may still change; our commitment remains.
If construction proceeds according to plan, we would like to open KLOSTERPARK Boitzenburg in time for the 2028 season.
This year, we intend to submit the planning applications for the
KLOSTERSCHÄNKE, KLOSTERSCHEUNE, and KLOSTERMÜHLE.
Depending on the granting of the building permit,
we also intend to commence construction activities promptly.
Together with the architects, specialist planners, and the heritage conservation office, we are developing a holistic concept for KLOSTERPARK Boitzenburg.
The municipal council of Boitzenburger Land approves the sale of the mill and the barn to the UMBRUCH Gruppe.
During a public information event, we present the background of the planned acquisition of the mill and the barn in Boitzenburg to interested citizens and introduce our vision for KLOSTERPARK Boitzenburg.
The concept for the KLOSTERSCHÄNKE is being revised in coordination with the heritage conservation authority.
We are creating a detailed concept for KLOSTERPARK Boitzenburg, which also includes the plans for the KLOSTERMÜHLE and the KLOSTERSCHEUNE.
We commission a market value appraisal for the mill and barn as well as structural surveys for both buildings.
Together with the architects and the heritage conservation authority, we assess the structural condition of the KLOSTERSCHÄNKE.
In order to fully inspect the substance of the KLOSTERSCHÄNKE, interior elements such as floors and intermediate ceilings are partially opened.
We present the concept for the new KLOSTERSCHÄNKE publicly for the first time at the Brandenburg Building Culture Day 2023.
The municipal council approves the sale of the former inn to UMBRUCH Gruppe GmbH.
In a meeting between Daniel Haver and Mayor Frank Zimmermann at the Boitzenburger Land municipal administration, the idea for the takeover of the former inn by the UMBRUCH Gruppe is born for the first time.
