Mill Day 2026
Successful German Mill Day at Boitzenburg Monastery Mill
In perfect weather, we were delighted to welcome numerous visitors to the Monastery Mill and KLOSTERPARK Boitzenburg on Whit Monday for German Mill Day. Featuring mill tours, a family program, a flea market, regional stalls, and numerous culinary delights, the historic mill once again became a vibrant meeting point for all ages.
The guided tours around the mill, in particular, attracted great interest and offered fascinating insights into traditional milling craftsmanship. The performance by the “Mühlengeister Boitzenburg” (Boitzenburg Mill Ghosts) also delighted many guests.
Our heartfelt thanks go to our monastery miller, Martin Joost, who dedicated himself to organizing the day, as well as to all helpers, exhibitors, and supporters who made this successful Mill Day possible.
However, the day was not only festive: thanks to the numerous visitors, donations could also be collected for projects in our region. The proceeds will benefit the “Mühlengeister” theater group from Boitzenburg and the “Buller-Bü” daycare center in Haßleben and “Zwergenstübchen” in Hardenbeck. This supports both local cultural offerings and the important work with children in the region.
The Nordkurier was also on site and reported on the event.
We sincerely thank all guests and look forward to more festivals and events at KLOSTERPARK Boitzenburg.
